South Africa President Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa says the country’s Ambassador to France and former minister Nathi Mthethwa will be honoured with a Special Official Funeral Category 2 on Sunday.
The President has also directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast from Thursday, 9 October 2025, until the evening of the funeral on Sunday, 12 October.
Mthethwa served as South Africa’s Ambassador to France from 2024 until his death on 30th September, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Mthethwa family is dealing with a tragedy that is playing out in public, with wild speculations about his death.
Mthethwa’s family is holding a memorial service in France.
