The automotive industry has confirmed a big improvement in the sales of hybrid and electric cars in South Africa.
The vehicles had a slow start in the country due to insufficient infrastructure and the unstable energy supply. However, there’s been a significant boost in sales over the past few months.
While fully electric vehicles still make up a small fraction of the total car market, their sales are on the rise.
The industry says it believes that these cars will fully take off in the future.
Electric cars are vehicles that run on electricity instead of fuel, while hybrid vehicles are vehicles that are powered by both fuel and electricity.
