South Africa were off to a flyer in their opening Group A game at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar on Monday, beating Bolivia 3-1 in Al-Rayyan
Despite going a man down after Sive Pama got his marching orders in the 35th minute, it was the Amajimbos who broke the deadlock two minutes later through Emile Witbooi to make it 1-0.
Neo Bohloko doubled South Africa’s lead 10 minutes into the second stanza when he tapped in a low cross from Alwande Booysen.
Bolivia pulled one goal back in the 72nd minute from the penalty spot.
Amajimbos made the game safe when Shaun Els got on the end of Booysen’s pass at the far post to make it 3-1 as South Africa secured all three points.
South Africa’s next game comes up on Thursday, 6th November against hosts Qatar.
