Nine people were killed and 10 others wounded following a mass shooting inside a tavern in Bekkersdal in the West Rand of Johannesburg on Sunday morning.
The attack happened at KwaNoxolo tavern, in the Tambo section of the area where gunmen opened fire.
Police say some victims were randomly shot in nearby streets. The injured have been rushed to hospital.
Gauteng deputy commissioner, Fred Kekana says the motive of the shooting is still unclear and authorities are investigating the matter.
