Nigeria’s men’s senior national team has moved up 14 places to number 28 on the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
This marks a significant rise for the Super Eagles and underlines their impressive showing at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria was placed at a distant 42nd position prior to the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.
The latest rankings also mean the Super Eagles are now the third best team in Africa, just behind Morocco and Senegal.
