After four days of fierce competition, the Johannesburg Giants have defeated the Marlins from KwaZulu-Natal to be crowned champions at the 2025 Basketball South Africa Club Championships in Cape Town.
The team will now represent South Africa at the upcoming Road to Basketball Africa League (BAL) tournament.
Their 79–76 victory over the KwaZulu-Natal Marlins means that the Johannesburg-based club will be in Africa for the 6th edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
The playoffs and finals will be held in BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, for a fifth time, as a result of a long-term agreement with the country.
The winners will earn the right to play in the 2026 FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
