Durban residents heaved a sigh of relief late Thursday after the three-day old taxi strike action was eventually called off.
The strike, which has left thousands of commuters stranded for a third consecutive day, was suspended during a joint media briefing between transport authorities and the taxi industry in Durban.
KwaDabeka and Clermont Taxi Associations started the action earlier this week.
On Thursday, taxi operations were halted in eThekwini Metro.
rEPORTS SAY The taxi industry accused the municipality of wrongfully impounding over 20 taxis.
