South African entertainer DJ Nkosinathi Maphumulo, popularly known by his stage name Black Coffee, has bought a home for R157 million (about US$9 million) on Cape Town’s most expensive street.

It ranks as the highest-value home sale in the country this year.

The Grammy Award-winning DJ bought the home on Nettleton Road through Little Ark Holdings, for which he is listed as the sole director, the website reported, citing Deeds Office records.

Nettleton Road is in the suburb of Clifton that is on Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard.

House prices on the stretch range from R90 million to the most recent sale to Black Coffee at R157 million.
