Afrobeats icon Davido will perform at the upcoming Scorpion Kings Live concert taking place on 29 August, 2025 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria,
The newlywed Nigerian superstar was added to an array of artistes expected to grace the event at the 52,000-capacity arena.
Music group Amapiano producers Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa made the announcement in the final installment of their Meet Our Friends series. Davido will perform alongside the Scorpion Kings and a large roster of African artists.
“Davido is family. Having him with us makes this a truly continental moment,” DJ Maphorisa said.
Kabza De Small added: “We’ve built this line-up to be history-making – and Davido is the perfect final piece.”
The concert will also pay tribute to veteran South African composer Caiphus Semenya, who will be honoured live on stage. Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa are expected to perform a remix of one of Semenya’s well-known songs.
The main stage will feature a wide range of performers, including Ami Faku, Aymos, Bontle Smith, Cassper Nyovest, Daliwonga, Focalistic, Kamo Mphela, Kwesta, Mafikizolo, Mawhoo, Mlindo The Vocalist, Msaki, Mthunzi, Njelic, Nkosazana Daughter, Nokwazi, Oskido, Phila Dlozi, Ricky Lenyora, Sizwe Alakine, Sjava, Thatohatsi, Tracy, Uhuru, Umthakathi Kush, Uncool MC and Young Stunna.
A pre-show stage will also run earlier in the day, featuring 25K, Ba Bethe Ga Shoazen, Banques, Blxckie, Christos, DBN Gogo, Dihno, Dlala Thukzin, Venom and Vinny Da Vinci.
