Nigeria Super Eagles newly-appointed interim Head Coach, Finidi George
Super Eagles interim head coach, Finidi George believes the two friendly games against Ghana and Mali are crucial for the team. Finidi will take charge of the team for the two friendly games following the exit of Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro.
Nigeria squares up against West African rivals on March 22, and four days later face Mali, another West African powerhouse. Both matches will be played in Marrakech, Morocco.
Speaking after the team’s first training session, Finidi said the players know the crucial nature of both matches and will not take the situation lying low.
“We want to make Nigerians proud.
“The AFCON is gone so these are two games that very crucial for Nigeria so we will take both matches seriously and get the best results possible,” he said.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had confirmed on Tuesday that Finidi George, who assisted Jose Peseiro at the recent Afcon in Cote d’Ivoire, will take charge of the team when they take on Ghana and Mali in the international friendlies.
