South Africa’s political landscape took a new dimension on Friday as former EFF and MK Party stalwart, Floyd Shivambu launched his new political party to be known as Afrika Mayibuye Movement, with two deputy presidents.
Briefing the media in Midrand, Johannesburg, Shivambu says the launch of the Afrika Mayibuye Movement concludes its national consultation processes.
“So, we are fighting for total freedom and emancipation now. We are fighting for political freedom and emancipation now. We are fighting for total economic freedom and emancipation now.
“We are fighting for cultural freedom and decolonisation now. We are fighting to build a capable developmental state now, and we are fighting to be a caring and responsive people’s movement.”
Shivambu, who will lead the party as its president, announced Robert Nwedo and Lubabalo Mcinga as the party’s two deputies.
Nwedo serves as president of the Maanda Ashu Workers Union of South Africa (Mawusa).
Dr. Mcinga is a former Member of Parliament of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
