South Africa’s Women’s Under17 national team advanced to the final round of qualifiers for the 2025 Under17 World Cup after beating Gabon 21-2 on aggregate last Saturday.
South Africa went into the second leg match leading 12-1 from the away leg in Gabon. Bantwana won the second leg 9-1 at Lucas Moripe Stadium, thanks to hat-tricks from Nomfundo Nzuza and Lilani Horak. Khwezi Khoza also got on the score sheet on the day alongside Katlego Mohale and Leonay Kock.
South Africa will now play Nigeria in the second round of the qualifying campaign, on dates yet to be confirmed by the Confédération of African Football.
