Nigeria’s senior women’s national team defeated Cameroon’s ladies 2-0 in an international friendly match played on Tuesday at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Captain Rashidat Ajibade’s first half brace was all Super Falcons (Pictured), needed to override the Indomitable Lionesses.
Ajibade fired Nigeria in front when she slotted home a penalty kick just before the half hour mark.
Shortly before half time, the former Atlético Madrid forward received a superb pass from Omorinsola Babajide inside the box, and made no mistake to complete her brace.
The game had been moved on two separate occasions due to unforeseen circumstances, but this time the Super Falcons made it count, giving the sparse home crowd something to cheer about.
Both sides are preparing for next month’s CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Morocco.
