The Stella Maris College Okitipupa 1974 set alumni during their 40th Anniversary Reunion

The Stella Maris College Okitipupa Old Student’s Association (1984 set) has donated new set of musical instruments to encourage the development of artistic talents among the students.

The President of the association, Dr (Mrs) Funke Adelakun, made the presentation during their 40th anniversary reunion at the school premises.

Among the items gifted to the school were new public address system, new musical band set as well as 40 plastic chairs and desks for the pupils.

Presenting the donations to the school principal, Mrs Oyepitan, Dr Adelakun appreciated the principal, staff and the students for sustaining the good reputation of their alma mater.

Among highlights of the reunion was a lecture in classroom setting during which their former English Literature teacher Pastor (Mrs) Adekanhunsi, took the old students on the topic ” Parts of Speech”.

Another alumnus, Mr Oludaisi Adetarami, lectured the pupils on career development while free medical tests were conducted for staff and students of the school.

During the reunion, some distinguished personalities were also given awards of special recognition for their contributions to the development of the school.

They include Maj. Gen. Peter Umuode, Chief Akinrogunde Ewe, Mrs Bose Kevu (Nee Ogunbameru) andDr Omoyele Akinbamowo.

Others are Bishop Gbenga Fafeyiwa, Dr (Mrs) Funke Adelakun, Sir Deji Adelakun, Rear Adm Monday Unurhierhe, Mr Obafemi Adetimehin, Rev. Fr. Patrick Fola Omoge, Mrs Oyepitan and Sir Joseph Olowogboyega..(www.amatropics.com)
