South Africa men’s national soccer team, the Bafana Bafana remains the 11th best team in Africa after FIFA announced the latest world rankings on Thursday, 24th October 2024.
Bafana are unbeaten in their last 14 games under Hugo Broos, winning seven and drawing the other seven.
While Bafana’s FIFA ranking on the continent remains unchanged, they dropped one spot in the world-wide list to 60th.
Meanwhile, Morocco stayed on as Africa’s highest-ranked nation and sit in 13th spot overall, followed by Senegal, who are 20th globally.
Egypt are Africa’s third highest-ranked nation, and 30th overall, while Nigeria follow in fourth and climbed into 36th overall – just one spot above Algeria.
Reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions Cote d’Ivoire dropped seven spots and are now seventh on the continent and 40th world-wide, while Tunisia dropped 11 spots into eighth among the CAF nations and 47th globally.
Africa’s top 10 are rounded off by Cameroon (49th overall), Mali (54) and Congo DR (57). The latter sit just three spots above Bafana Bafana in the world-ranking.
