South Africa’s former Public Protector and Economic Freedom Fighters member, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has teamed up with uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party.
At a media briefing in Sandton, north of Johannesburg, on Friday, the party announced Mkhwebane and former KwaZulu-Natal Premier and African National Congress leader Willies Mchunu as its Provincial Conveners of Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal respectively.
The two recently left their respective parties. Friday’s briefing was attended by MK party leader Jacob Zuma.
Mkhwebane upholds that she was not poached from the EFF but rather better identifies with the message of the MK party.
“So the minute we remove that element of perpetuating that negativity that people are being poached, it’s so wrong. Because at the end of the day, we should be working as this black progressive party to achieve what president Zuma has been saying all along.”
Speaking at the briefing MKP Secretary General, Dr Sifiso Maseko says the two members have vast experience in leadership.
