Bafana Bafana Captain and first choice goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams was conspicuously missing as Coach Hugo Broos announced his 23-man AFCON Qualifier squad on Thursday.
The Mamelodi Sundowns safe hands is ruled out due to injury.
Meanwhile, Sipho Chaine, Rushwin Dortley, Fawaaz Basadien and Thalente Mbatha are the new faces in South Africa’s senior squad ahead of next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Uganda and South Sudan.
Bafana will start their AFCON qualification with a home game against Uganda at Orlando Stadium on 6 September before traveling to South Sudan four days later.
South Africa are currently 10 games unbeaten under Broos, with their last defeat coming at the 2023 AFCON opener against Mali in January.
