Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has completed a long-anticipated switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray SK in a deal worth €75 million, bringing to an end his time at Serie A side Napoli.

The 26-year-old forward touched down in Istanbul on Wednesday evening, July 30, 2025, to a rapturous welcome from thousands of Galatasaray fans who trooped to the airport to celebrate his return.

Galatasaray confirmed Osimhen’s signing via social media posts that included footage of his arrival and images from the airport.

The club had earlier teased the announcement and even livestreamed the Nigerian international’s flight to Istanbul, heightening excitement among supporters.

Osimhen previously spent the 2024/2025 season on loan at Galatasaray, where his performances convinced the club’s management to push for a permanent transfer.

The deal with SSC Napoli is reported to be structured around an initial €40 million payment this summer, with a further €35 million due in 2026. An additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses brings the total package to €75 million.

Osimhen, who helped Napoli to a Serie A title in 2023, leaves Italy as one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.
His move to Galatasaray marks a significant coup for the Istanbul club as they prepare for a new campaign both domestically and in Europe.(www.amatropics.com)
