Police in South Africa’s North West province say no arrests have been made after eight people were shot and killed in a tavern at Extension 13 in Kanana, outside Klerksdorp on Saturday.
According to police reports, the motive for the mass shooting has not yet been established.
The report said seven people died on the scene, while one other victim eied at a hospital.
The suspects fled the scene with CCTV Cameras, an undisclosed amount of cash, cellphones, and a snooker table.
Police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone said several other people sustained gunshot wounds.
“The provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, condemns in the strongest possible terms the killing of seven people…at a tavern at Extension 13, Kanana location, near Orkney outside Klerksdorp.
The suspects reportedly arrived at the tavern and then randomly fired shots.”
