Nigeria’s Professor Cynthia Obiorah, a leading figure in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE), has been named among distinguished recipients of the 100 Global Impact Personalities Awards held in Abuja.

The award, presented by the African Intercontinental Network in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlights Professor Obiorah’s standing as a trailblazing academic and internationally respected thought leader.
Selected on merit from a competitive pool of over 1,500 nominees, Professor Obiorah’s inclusion reflects her exceptional academic credentials and extensive research publications. The rigorous evaluation process, which examined nominees’ scholarly accomplishments and professional impact, confirmed her as a model of excellence in her field.
At the awards ceremony, themed “Fostering Collaboration for Progressive Impact,” Professor Obiorah shared her vision for transformative change, stressing that driving progressive impact remains essential, especially in Nigeria’s efforts to reclaim its global standing.
Her address during her interview at the World Safety Organization iNatConf and WoSAwards 2025, themed PROGRESS (Promoting Resilient Occupational, Governance, Risk Management and Environmental Safety Standards), highlighted the vital role of committed professionals in guiding the nation toward greater global recognition.
