The Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos will host the Nigeria Federation Cup final on Saturday, in both male and female categories.
Saturday’s main event is the men’s final between Abakaliki FC and Kwara United where a new champion will be crowned. Kick off time is 16h00.
The Afonja Warriors from Kwara State will be determined to end a long wait for national dominance, and this occasion might just offer the opportunity to wipe their tears.
But they must be wary of their equally devastating opponents on the day, Abakaliki FC from Ebonyi State.
Coached by Nigeria ex-international, Ifeanyi Onyedika, this team has stunned everyone with their fairy tale run, beating powerhouses like Enyimba, Nasarawa United, and Ikorodu City.
The women’s final comes up before the men’s showdown, and this tie between Rivers Angels and Nasarawa Amazons promises lots of thrills and football artistry.
Six years ago when both sides clashed at this stage of the competition, Amazons came out victorious.
Could this be an opportunity for Rivers Angels to exert revenge?
Kick off tine is 13h00 local time.
Special guest of honour for both events is Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq will also be in attendance.
