A three-month-old baby boy was shot during a gang-related incident in Bonteheuwel in Cape Town on Friday.
The infant was rushed to the hospital by quick-acting residents, but unfortunately, he was declared dead hours later due to fatal injuries sustained.
The ward councillor, Angus McKenzie, has condemned the incident and called for justice.
McKenzie says that specific street has two viral gangs that live in the same street.
“And these two rival gangs, over the last few months have constantly been at each other’s throat, and evidently, the reason for being at each other’s throat is to control the drug trade within that specific area.
“Communities struggle to speak up because the South African Police Services fail to protect witnesses and so, people see on a daily basis our witnesses in various other crimes are shot and killed,” says McKenzie.(www.amatropics.com)
