Former Nigeria international midfielder, Ayo Ogunlana has passed away in Kaduna, www.amatropics.com exclusively gathered. He was 67 years old.
The one-time Leventis United and Ranchers Bees star reportedly died on Friday morning following a brief illness.
An infleuntial member of Nigeria’s silver-winning squad at Algiers ’90 Africa Cup of Nations, Ogunlana was a master of his craft, and his combination in midfield with the likes of late Thompson, Oliha, Moses Kpakor and Wasiu Ipaye steered Super Eagles to the final of the tournament, which they lost to hosts Algeria.
Ogunlana (squatting first from left in pic), is survived by his wife and children.
This is a developing story…
