The family of late Ayo Ogunlana have confirmed to amatropics.com that the former Super Eagles star died of cardiac arrest on Friday morning during his regular early morning workout.
Family sources said the 67-year-old ex-Leventis United and Ranchers Bees midfielder slumped on the thread-mill after his aerobics session at the gym.
Ogunlana, an indigene of Ondo State, was the Managing Director of Kaduna-based Vine Merchants Petroleum company.
He enjoyed a sterling football career in the 1980s and early 90s culminating in domestic cup glories and a befitting silver medal with Nigeria at the 1990 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.
He was a master of his craft, whose commanding midfield roles were complemented by his trademark free-kicks.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by his family in due course.
